Psyche & Goals

The trader behind the trades, seen in the data.

Most trading-psychology advice asks you to notice your own state in the moment it is least noticeable. Sage takes the other route: the journal already knows when you entered, how much you risked, and what happened just before. From that alone it flags revenge entries — a trade minutes after a loss, often at bigger size — and costs them in R. A thirty-second check-in before the first trade gives you a baseline, and Goals turns your rules into things the journal verifies rather than things you promise.

What it is

Trading Psychology & Discipline, concretely.

Automatic

Revenge and tilt detection

An entry within a cooldown of a losing close is flagged, with the minutes since the loss and the risk escalation (same, doubled…). No self-reporting — the pattern is read from timestamps and risk you already recorded.

In R

What it cost

Flagged trades are totalled separately, so "I revenge traded" becomes "revenge entries cost 4.1R this month" — a number you can act on.

30 seconds

The daily check-in

Sleep, focus, mood, distraction — before the first trade. Over weeks, your results on low-score days against high-score days tell you whether a bad morning should mean half size or no trades.

Verified

Goals the journal checks

Max trades per day, risk under a percentage, no revenge trades within a cooldown, checklist on every entry, one session only, a daily loss limit. You cannot mark a goal kept — the trades do, or do not.

Costed

Mistakes in R

Log what went wrong on a trade and it is costed in R, so moved stops and early exits stop being feelings and become a monthly total.

Rewarded

Discipline earns progress

Kept rules, check-in streaks and clean weeks unlock skills on the Discipline branch of the progression tree — the rare case of gamification pointing at the boring, correct behaviour.

How it works

How a trader actually uses it.

  1. 01

Check in before the first trade

Thirty seconds. Four sliders. It becomes a baseline you can compare results against.

  2. 02

Set two or three rules as goals

The ones your flagged trades say you need — usually a cooldown after a loss and a cap on trades per day. Sage verifies them against every trade.

  3. 03

    Trade and journal as usual

Flags appear on the entries that match the pattern, with their cost. Goals show kept or broken, by trade.

  4. 04

    Review by category, weekly

Flagged count, R cost, which rule would have prevented each, whether the rule you have was kept — and what made breaking it possible.

What it is, and isn't

Straight about the limits.

It does

  • Revenge-trade detection from entry timestamps and risk; tilt patterns; the cost in R
  • A daily check-in with mood-vs-performance comparison; a check-in history
  • Six process goals verified against your trades; mistakes costed in R
  • Progression rewards for kept discipline

It doesn't

  • Stop you trading — it does not execute or block orders at a broker
  • Diagnose or treat anything; it reports patterns in your own trades
  • Require self-reporting for detection; the check-in is optional and separate
  • Compare your psychology to anyone else's

Trading Psychology & Discipline, answered.

How does revenge-trade detection work?
An entry within a configurable cooldown (thirty minutes by default) of a losing close is flagged. The flag records the minutes since the loss and the risk escalation relative to the losing trade. It uses only the timestamps and risk already in your journal.
Can I mark a goal as done myself?
No. Goals are verified against your trades — a cooldown kept, a trade count under the cap, risk under the limit, a checklist confirmed on every entry. That is the point of them.
Is the check-in required?
No. It is thirty seconds and optional; its value shows up after a few weeks, when you can compare results on low-score and high-score days.
Does this replace working with a coach or therapist?
No. It is a pattern detector and a rule verifier for your own trading behaviour, not advice or treatment.
